Management of drugs is one of the core challenges faced by health service providers. They need to know the current stock of drugs in the facility when they are to expire, the cost, batches and balances.
It is not common for clinicians to prescribe drugs that do not exist in their dispensaries. Whereas such a prescription may be out of a serious necessity, several alternative drugs with the same effect may be available in the facility.
